There has been a lot of talk about music streaming services and how the artists are compensated for their work. This article dissects the economics of up-and-coming artists, which helps frame how the evolution of the artist may impact the future of the music industry. Key points include getting radio DJs to play your song, the possibility of labels becoming irrelevant, and the rise of music festivals.
